Gunna released his latest studio album, The Last Wun, on August 8, 2025.
One of the songs from his album is titled, prototype, which features a line in which the rapper seemingly addresses Young Thug's tweet and delete. The line goes:
"N**** had tweeted my name, musta had to be a typo"
Netizens were quick to react to this tweet, as exemplified by the tweets below:

More on Gunna and Young Thug's apparent beef
Gunna and Young Thug were once close collaborators as part of the YSL Records group. This relationship was, however, soured by the RICO indictment that was brought against YSL Records and those associated with it by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The 56-count indictment started in 2022 and created a series of events that led to the fallout between the two rappers.
Soon after the indictment started, the rapper turned himself in and was charged with one count of conspiracy and sentenced to five years in prison. He was released after he entered an Alford Plea (whereby a defendant can plead guilty to a charge while personally maintaining their innocence).
Meanwhile, Young Thug remains incarcerated for the entire period, even releasing an album from prison. The rapper, meanwhile, faced snitching allegations, and a video surfaces of him confirming such allegations.
This cements the split. Young Thug, after being released in 2024, posted the tweet that the rapper seemingly reacted to in his song, prototype, as mentioned above. Another apparent sign of the beef is the fact that the rapper is moving away from YSL Records, with The Last Wun being his last album with the label.
The rapper and Young Thug collaborated on tracks such as Oh Okay, Chanel Go Get It, and Hot. The rapper has also collaborated with other YSL artists, such as Lil Baby, with whom he collaborated on the track Drip Too Hard and Sold Out Dates. The rapper's new album, The Last Wun, is a sequel to his 2024 album, One of Wun.
