According to TMZ's latest documentary, What Happened To Justin Bieber?, the Canadian singer currently owes his former manager, Scooter Braun, around $8 million. Bieber's monetary problems started in 2022 as a consequence of cancelling his last tour, known as the "Justice World Tour." The reason behind the tour's cancellation is not just because of the delay due to the pandemic but also because of the singer's health problems.

Harvey Levin, who is TMZ's executive producer, told Banfield:

"As crazy as this sounds, Justin Bieber made up to $1 billion in his career. In 2022, he was broke — so broke, we’re told, he borrowed one of his friends’ credit cards to play golf... He was broke."

According to previous reports, Lou Taylor, Justin Bieber's business manager, said that Scooter Braun was actually overpaid by around $26 million. However, these claims were debunked by recent audits.

More details emerge about Justin Bieber’s bankruptcy and his $8 million debt to Scooter Braun

After the failure of the "Justice World Tour" in 2022, Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun's relationship was not the same anymore, and this is all due to money-related issues.

According to Don Nash, another TMZ executive producer. He said:

"Scooter’s camp has told us that he just thinks Justin wanted to go home... He was tired, he wanted to spend more time with [his wife], Hailey [Bieber], he wanted to go on vacation, and he wanted to live his life without going on tour."

Since the tour ended early, Bieber owed AEG Presents (concert promoters) at least $24 million after they had paid $40 million in advance. However, it was revealed that the Baby singer did not have enough money to pay the promoters, so Scooter Braun's company, Hybe, stepped in.

The agreement was that Bieber would pay the debt in installments over ten years. But it was revealed that JB paid only one installment and never returned the rest.

Later on, claims were made by JB's business manager stating that the former manager was overpaid. But upon further investigation and internal audits by Hybe, it was revealed that the claims were false. The Blast reported that Scooter Braun was underpaid, even after he agreed to "waive" the amount.

After JB's team called Braun's internal audit "corrupt," the latter was forced to hire a neutral business to do another internal audit. They hired Pricewaterhouse (PWC), and according to TMZ, the reports revealed that Bieber owed his former manager approximately $8,806,000.

What began as a professional relationship dwindled into a strained fallout due to financial issues. However, JB's teams are calling out the audits and reports of the singer going bankrupt, claiming they are untrue and simply part of a misleading narrative.
