BIGHIT Music released an official notification about BTS' SUGA’s upcoming military discharge on June 21, 2025. BTS' SUGA is currently gearing up for his military discharge following his enlistment in September 2023. In the latest Weverse notice, BIGHIT stated that the idol will soon be relieved from his Social Work Personnel responsibilities.

“We are excited to bring you the news of SUGA's upcoming Social Work discharge. SUGA is close to completing his service as a Social Work Personnel and will soon be discharged.” BIGHIT stated.

BIGHIT further requested fans to avoid overcrowding around the place of the idol’s military release for safety reasons. The agency hasn’t planned any special event for Agust D’s return.

“No special events are planned on the day of SUGA’s discharge. Overcrowding can pose safety risks, and we sincerely request our fans not to visit the sites in person.,” BIGHIT added.

The agency also expressed gratitude for fans’ continued love and support they demonstrated for SUGA.

“We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for SUGA. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists. Thank you once again for your continued love and support for BTS.,” BIGHIT concluded.

BTS' SUGA dedicated a voice message to fans during ‘BTS FESTA 2025’

BTS FESTA 2025 commenced at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, on June 13, 2025. The festival commemorated the septet's debut anniversary and reinstated the offline format after several years of virtual events.

BTS FESTA is the anniversary commemoration of the K-pop group, typically featuring exclusive content and fan engagements. This year's event was conducted in person and ran until June 14, with all zones accessible throughout the duration.

A major component of BTS FESTA was the Voice Zone, where fans could listen to messages recorded by the members. The voice zone of FESTA showcased an audio recording of BTS' SUGA, presented for the first time following his enlistment as a civil service worker in September 2023.

“Hello, this is Suga. I feel like it’s been so long since I got to greet you. Army, have you been doing well? I’ve been spending my time waiting for the day I get to see you again. I miss you so much. I love you, everyone," SUGA’s voice note stated.

Ahead of his military release, BTS' SUGA was spotted at j-hope’s ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ Final Day-1 concert held in Seoul, South Korea. All the members of the band attended the concert, among whom Jungkook gave his first post-military performance.

In related news, HYBE’s representative reportedly confirmed the group’s comeback planned for March 2026. The much-awaited event will take place after the completion of the military duties of all the singers of BTS.
