Bruce Springsteen is seemingly not thrilled about the idea of performing Nebraska to promote Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
The legendary singer-songwriter, who recently had a conversation with Rolling Stone, was asked about the possibility of a special show where he performs his 1982 album before the release of his biopic. Springsteen showcased his reluctance by responding,
“I doubt I’ll do it.”
However, Bruce didn’t rule out the possibility and added,
“[B]ut I could possibly go out and play that record straight through one day. I think that would be fun to do, and the fans would get a kick out of it. That’s not off the table.”
For those unaware, 20th Century Studios dropped the trailer of the Jeremy Allen White-starrer “Bruce Springsteen” biopic on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The much-anticipated biographical musical drama film captures the journey of the Born to Run singer-songwriter during the creation of his sixth studio album, Nebraska, while also exploring the early years of his life in Freehold, New Jersey.
In March 2024, Deadline confirmed the involvement of the heartland rock icon and his longtime manager/record producer, Jon Landau. In his June 2025 Rolling Stone interview, Bruce Springsteen also praised Jeremy Allen White, who portrays him in the film.
Deliver Me from Nowhere, based on Warren Zanes' 2023 biography, is set to release later this year in October and also stars Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, and more.
Bruce Springsteen reveals that Jeremy Allen White was “very, very tolerant of” him when he used to visit the set of his biopic
The Human Touch singer’s life during the conception of Nebraska is the subject of Scott Cooper-directed Deliver Me from Nowhere. In his recent interview with Rolling Stone, Bruce Springsteen was asked about him visiting the film set and watching an actor playing him.
The musician responded with praise for Jeremy Allen White, stating how it was much more difficult for The Bear star to act during his presence. Springsteen told Rolling Stone,
“I’m sure it’s much worse for the actor than for me. Jeremy Allen White was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on the set.”
Bruce recounted his chat with Jeremy Allen White,
“I said to him, ‘Look, anytime I’m in the way, just give me the look, and I’m on my way home.’ So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there. And it was just fun. It was enjoyable.”
Bruce Springsteen commended all actors, including Jeremy Allen White and the Succession star Jeremy Strong, while also highlighting Stephen Graham’s “out of this world” portrayal of his father in the film.
For the unversed, Jeremy Allen White has done singing himself in the film, which apparently impressed Springsteen during the filming. Marc Maron, who is also a part of the cast, told Collider’s Steven Weintraub in a March 2025 conversation that at some points, Bruce “didn't know whether what he was listening to was himself or Jeremy.”
