American country singer Trisha Yearwood has released her latest album, The Mirror, today, June 18. The new album comprises 15 tracks. Sharing the news on Instagram, the songstress wrote:

“Writers and collaborators who mean the world to me. Putting this project out is an empowering and exciting step for me. I’m just thankful. I hope you love it as much as I do.”

She further added:

“To the writers on this album - I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for trusting me with your creativity and pouring so much into these songs.”

Some of the tracks on The Mirror album are Fragile Like a Bomb, Girls Night In, When October Settles In, Goodnight Cruel World, Bringing the Angels, and others.

In another Instagram post, Trisha Yearwood wrote that she planned to sign records all weekend. She encouraged Nashville fans to stop by Lower Broadway on July 20 for a signed copy of the exclusive blue vinyl.

The songstress also collaborated with her friend Charles Kelley on the song The Record Plays On from the new album. This song was written by Chad Carlson, Melissa Fuller, and herself. Speaking about the song, Trisha Yearwood said:

“Chad Carlson is my co-writer on the song along with Melissa Fuller and we were talking about the state of the world like everybody’s doing, and we wanted to write something about that, but we didn’t want to be preachy. We want to give people hope because if you can dream of a better day, you can make it happen. I really do believe that.”

Trisha Yearwood on co-writing the album and the message behind Girls Night In

On June 17, Trisha Yearwood shared a video on her Instagram in which she revealed that co-writing the entire album was something her younger self would never have imagined. It was the first time she had ever done it, and adding a layer of personal storytelling not previously seen in her work.

She felt excited about the record because it offered something different. Trisha Yearwood said:

“I am hoping it’s a side that people see and go, ‘Oh yeah, I get that. That’s who I think she is.’ But they just get to see a little different side, a little another layer.”

One of the songs on The Mirror is Girls Night In, written by Rebecca Lynn Howard, Rachel Thibodeau, and herself. Speaking about the song, she explained that it highlighted the importance of girlfriends and how it was okay to be yourself around them.

Trisha Yearwood compared it to how female elephants form a protective circle around one in need—whether it’s giving birth or feeling unwell.

She said friendships worked the same way. Sometimes it was her turn to need support, and other times it was someone else’s turn—but they always had each other’s backs. The song was about sharing stories and being there for one another, no matter what.
