BTS' Jungkook once again surfaced in the headlines after he emerged as the first K-pop soloist and fastest Asian act to surpass 8.9 billion streams in Spotify history. The Hate You singer made this new record during his ongoing break from his military service in South Korea.

He also created this record with his inaugural solo album, GOLDEN, which debuted in November 2023 ahead of his military enlistment. Fans of Jeon Jungkook were ecstatic with his new milestone. As a result, the idol’s fandom filled the social media with their praises for him. One of them wrote:

“CONGRATULATIONS JUNGKOOK. TOP ASIAN SOLOIST JUNGKOOK GLOBAL SOLO POP. SUPERSTAR JUNGKOOK”

Fans rejoice as BTS' Jungkook make another record with over 8.9 billion streams on Spotify

Many other fans flooded the internet with their reactions for Golden maknae. While many referred to him as a global pop superstar, others said that the idol deserved all the success.

"Congratulations my golden star You deserve all the success in the world! 8.9B and still rising,” a fan said.
“CONGRATULATIONS JUNGKOOK Can't wait for you to release new music and perform on stage,” another fan commented.
“Congratulations jk the king or k-pop,” stated an admirer.

Several fans congratulated BTS' Jungkook, while others anticipated 15 billion streams following the launch of the idol’s second solo effort. Another fan stressed how Jungkook set a record with a debut solo album.

“Jungkook can easily crack 15B streams with JJK2 manifesting so hard,” another fan wrote.
“DEBUT ALBUM INSANE! congrats jungkook,” commented an admirer.
“CONGRATULATIONS JUNGKOOK GLOBAL POP STAR JUNGKOOK HISTORY MAKER JUNGKOOK,” a fan wrote.

BTS' Jungkook’s GOLDEN exceeded 5.6 billion streams recently

The BTS idol’s first solo album created another record, recently crossing the mark of 5.6 billion streams on Spotify. It also became the first album by an Asian act to achieve this mark.

GOLDEN was launched on November 3, 2023, before Jungkook left for his military service in December 2023. The album featured a total of eleven compositions; here’s the list of its songs:

Recently, BTS’ Jungkook also broke the record for most albums sold by a K-pop soloist with his release. The achievement was for his record GOLDEN, which sold 9.2 million total equivalent copies.

At the time of writing, JK is nearing his military discharge following his enlistment in December 2023. He joined the army along with his fellow singer Jimin, and both will be freed from their respective terms in June this year.
