BTS' Jungkook once again appeared in headlines for the highest album sales on Hanteo. On May 11, @TheePopCore shared the list of K-pop soloists featuring first album sales of the idols, with Jungkook holding the first place on the list with his debut solo album GOLDEN. He made his mark with a record of 2.14 million album sales on the first day.
So far, Jk has dropped only one solo album, which came out in November 2023 before he left for his military service.
Jeon Jungkook’s fans were delighted to see the list topped by their idol. Consequently, fans flooded the internet with their praises for the Standing Next To You vocalist. One user on X stated:

Some referred to GOLDEN as BTS' Jungkook’s masterpiece, while others also alluded to him as king. Another fan dubbed him as main pop boy.

Many said that BTS' Jungkook is always on top, while others called him as the king of K-pop. Some fans also said Jk proved himself again and again.

Next to Jungkook, Kim Taehyung, SUGA, and Jimin took #2, #3, and #4 spots, respectively. Tae got second place with 1.67 million album sales with his solo record Layover, while SUGA was placed third with 1.07 million sales of his independent work D-DAY. Jimin’s inaugural solo album FACE ranked fourth with 1.02 million first-day album sales on Hanteo.
In related news, BTS' Jungkook’s GOLDEN also turned out to be the most-streamed album by an Asian male idol on Spotify with over 517 million streams in 2025 so far.
GOLDEN was released on November 3, 2023, and featured a total of eleven tracks. The songs of album are Closer to You (feat. Major Lazer), Seven (feat. Latto) Explicit Version, Yes or No, Please Don't Change (feat. DJ Snake), Hate You, Somebody, Standing Next To You, Too Sad to Dance, Shot Glass of Tears, Seven (ft. Latto) Clean Version, and 3D (ft. Jack Harlow).
