Comedian Kevin Hart had a playful exchange with Kendrick Lamar at the 2025 BET Awards. Lamar, who won five awards at the ceremony, was on stage to accept the award for Album of the Year. He said:

“First and foremost, I like to thank everybody out in this crowd y'all looking good tonight. I ain't been here in a long time but I always kept in my heart BET always make sure that they represent the culture right and always put me in the midst of the cycle of what we represent and that's real true down-to-earth music that people can feel so I always give my heart to BET.”

As he concluded his speech and was about to exit the stage, Kevin Hart, accompanied by a lady, entered with awards in their hands. After handing over one award to Lamar, he said:

“I just bought out more awards cause you've been winning sh*t all year. So, I figured I'd just get in front of it here you go take all that right there.”

Kendrick Lamar said something to him which was inaudible, to which Kevin Hart replied:

“That's your problem not mine. You won them. I don't have to be responsible for how you get out of here with them. It is what it is. I love you, boy. Show my guy some love man one time Kendrick Lamar.”

Besides Album of the Year, Lamar won the remaining awards for Best Collaboration, Best Male Hip-hop Artist, Video of the Year, and Video Director of the Year.
