Taylor Swift has announced the title of her brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl, when she appeared on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast. As seen in a clip from the unreleased episode of the podcast posted on the X account, @PopCrave, she said she wanted to show something to Jason Kelce. She then brought a briefcase from which she took out the album cover, which was blurred. She said:
“This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
Social media users seemed excited about the news. One X user commented:

Netizens mentioned that they couldn’t have guessed the name of Taylor Swift’s album, while others hoped it would mark a new journey for her.

Spotify releases a public playlist before Taylor Swift’s announcement
Taylor Swift’s official website is now accepting pre-orders for The Life of a Showgirl’s vinyl, cassette, and poster. The cover image for the album has yet to be released, as the covers for the vinyl and cassette show a lock covered in orange glitter. Moreover, her official social media team, Taylor Nation, also features a similar profile image.
Taylor Nation posted a carousel with photos from the singer’s Eras tour. The post was captioned:

According to Variety, before the news of Swift’s new album came about, several billboards were seen in New York and other places. These billboards had a code that took users to a customised public playlist on Spotify:
“And, baby, that’s show business for you.”
The playlist has various songs by Taylor Swift. The singer’s last album, The Tortured Poets Department, came out in 2024. Earlier this year, she regained access to her recordings. At the time, she said that getting to own her music completely was more than just a dream come true for her.
She had always wanted to work hard enough to buy her music without any conditions or partnerships, so she could have full control over it. Swift said she was thankful to Shamrock Capital for allowing her the opportunity.
