Following his recent Weverse live, BTS' Jungkook made another unexpected move on Instagram. On July 15, 2025, BTS' Jungkook startled fans by activating a new Instagram account, @mnijungkook. This marked his comeback to the platform after more than two years. This occurred during an unplanned Instagram live session with Taehyung and Namjoon.
Fans discovered that the SEVEN idol had made an entirely new profile to jump in on the fun. In less than 30 minutes, the freshly created profile acquired almost 700,000 followers. The number continued to rise dramatically.
The "mni" in his username "mnijungkook" appears to mean "My Name is."
Earlier, Jungkook deleted his old Instagram account (@jungkook.97) in February 2023. BTS' Jungkook even gave a reason for deleting it. He said that he just didn’t use it much and preferred to interact with fans via Weverse. He even assured his followers at the time that his IG account wasn’t hacked, and he just wanted to take a break from the platform.
Fans of Jungkook were overjoyed with the idol’s return to Instagram. Therefore, they flooded the internet with their excitement and love for Jk’s return. One of them on X commented:
“Kpopies gonna be mad now stay mad. he is going to break records even with his ig account. Oh Jk the King you are”

Many other fans gave their mixed reactions to Jk’s new profile. While some said the idol leveled up with this move, other pointed out how he made new profile around the same time of his song SEVEN’s second anniversary, marked on July 14.
“And just like that, Instagram servers started sweating,” a fan said.
“New Insta? Jungkook just leveled up,” another fan said.
“Oh it’s over for your faves!!! He’s coming!!! Just in time for the anniversary of 7 ft Latto! They wouldn’t have went #1 without each other,” commented an admirer.

Several fans said that the King is back, while others underlined his major impact.

The BTS maknae makes new records quite often. The latest one in this line is the massive number of viewers he amassed with his recent solo livestream on Weverse. On July 14, Jungkook came on solo livestream via Weverse for the first time following his military release on June 11.
With his return to livestream, BTS' Jungkook created new record with 10.9 million viewers. He even sang around 40 songs for his fans during 2 hour long broadcast.
As of this writing, the idol has over 3.8 million followers on his new IG account.
