Megan Thee Stallion just added another accolade to her already stacked résumé, and this new one hits close to her heart.

The Grammy-winning rapper and unapologetic advocate has been named The Trevor Project’s 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year, an honor previously bestowed upon artists such as Dua Lipa and Lil Nas X.

"On World Mental Health Day, we are proud to honor Grammy-winning artist, activist, and philanthropist @theestallion with The Trevor Project’s 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year Award."

The project continued:

"From breaking stigma around mental health to creating resources like Bad B**ches Have Bad Days Too and establishing the Pete & Thomas Foundation, Megan uses her powerful voice and platform to uplift BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Her raw honesty reminds LGBTQ+ young people everywhere that vulnerability is strength, and you are never alone."

Announced on World Mental Health Day (Oct. 10), the award celebrates Megan Thee Stallion's ongoing work to destigmatize mental health conversations through her Bad B**ches Have Bad Days Too initiative.

She then released a statement upon receiving the recognition:

“I’m honored to receive this year’s Mental Health Champion award from The Trevor Project. My goal has always been to use my platform to help break stigmas around mental health and provide resources for those seeking safe spaces to have honest and heartfelt conversations.”

Megan went on:

“Mental health impacts all of us, so it’s important to lead with love and empathy. I’m grateful for organizations like The Trevor Project that are committed to spreading awareness and supporting our LGBTQ+ youth in powerful ways."

A look at Megan Thee Stallion’s ongoing mental health advocacy

Megan Thee Stallion launched the wellness website, Bad B**ches Have Bad Days Too, in 2022, which offers resources, directories, and LGBTQ+ community helplines to those in need.

The "Otaku Hot Girl" hitmaker also founded the Pete & Thomas Foundation, which aims to empower women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities in Houston. The foundation centers on education, health and wellness, housing, and community goodwill.

Other initiatives by Megan Thee Stallion include her partnership with the California Department of Public Health's Never a Bother campaign in 2024, a youth s**cide prevention drive created to strengthen awareness of tools and resources before, during, and after a crisis.

In the accompanying video for the campaign, the rapper shared:

"I know when you feel like you're sad. You start using like a lot of self-hate language, and you start feeling like, 'It's me, I'm the problem, nobody cares, nobody likes me anyway,' like you just start feeling like it's all you and there's nothing that can be done about it. And you don't want to burden anybody else with your problems."

Megan Thee Stallion continued:

"But I had to learn that it's not that you're a burden, like if you need to ask for help, that's just genuinely what you need to do, and the people around you need to make you feel validated."

In 2023, she also collaborated with the Ad Council’s Seize the Awkward campaign, where she encouraged the youth to talk openly about mental health.
