Billy Ray Cyrus was moved to tears when his daughter Miley Cyrus gave him the kind of birthday gift only she could.

In a recent CBS Sunday Morning interview, the pop star revealed that her father "cried" after hearing "Secrets," a track that she penned for him. She shared:

“My dad cried. You know, you don’t see your dad cry a lot. But with me and my dad, we just have always communicated better through music with each other.”

Released on Sept. 18, Miley Cyrus' "Secrets" features Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood from the legendary folk rock band Fleetwood Mac. In the music video, the pop star sings about the promise of surrender, which carries added significance as it serves as a peace offering to her father.

Miley Cyrus had been estranged from her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, following his divorce from her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, in 2022.

However, following the gift, the songstress is asked if she is now "at peace" with her father. Miley Cyrus simply answered:

"Yeah."

Most importantly, the "Flowers" hitmaker looks at peace with herself as well, citing feeling "authentic joy."

"I think the authentic joy of doing what I want to do has always eclipsed the negatives for me. I feel really good. And I really like who I am, and I like what I'm doing with my life. And I think if I was outside of myself, I would want to be a part of what I'm doing in any way that I could be. 'Cause I think what I'm doing is cool. So, that actually feels good."

She added:

"I like what I do. I like who I am."

Miley Cyrus credits Hannah Montana for her success, says she "set me up for the life that I have now"

Meanwhile, at one point during the interview, Miley Cyrus also opened up about her iconic role as Hannah Montana from the eponymous Disney teen-oriented series.

"I love her. She's everything. I would have nothing, none of this."

The "End of the World" artist went full-on gratitude to the 2006 sitcom character, saying:

"Maybe I could've figured it out, maybe I could've gotten myself from Nashville, Tennessee, to Los Angeles. I don't know. But she did it a lot faster, and better, and set me up for the life that I have now. So love her, gratitude, all of that."

Miley Cyrus also opened up about being under public scrutiny for most of her life. When asked about her stance on strangers who think they know her personally, the pop star weighed in:

"I love my life, so I don't ever really have – I haven't made too much of a list of the things that are negative about it, 'cause there's so many great things. But I would say one of the things that I don't love and don't appreciate so much is when you meet somebody and they go, 'Wow, you're like, so cool. You're so smart. You're nothing like I thought you would be.' So yeah, that's a tough one."
