It’s been over a decade since Miley Cyrus hit the road, with her last tour being 2014’s Bangerz Tour. On July 15, Cyrus was a guest on ABC’s Good Morning America, where she discussed her work with Chris Connelly. Reflecting on her tour plans, she said:

“I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire but I don’t. I also don’t think that there is actually an infrastructure that supports artists.”

The Angels Like You singer shared her thoughts about other artists. She said it is difficult for most of them to maintain sobriety while on the road. She credited her personal insight and self-awareness for shaping her work.

However, she felt it wasn’t easy to keep up with one’s mental wellness. Speaking about live performances, Miley Cyrus said:

“You have so many thousands of people screaming at you so dopamine, you are feeling a lot of love and then you totally crash at the end of the show and you start thinking that one person loving you is not enough. It needs to be ten thousand. It needs to be eighty thousand.”

Her visual album, Something Beautiful, was released recently. Reflecting on the work, she said she aimed to create something modern while still paying tribute to iconic women in film and music.

Miley Cyrus explained that her voice had always been unique, but it grew and changed over time, evolving with her life and experiences.

Miley Cyrus said performing with Beyoncé felt like a win to her

Miley Cyrus shared that she likes doing things that she is usually afraid of. She has jumped off airplanes and performed for an audience of 150,000. On June 19, she performed a track with Beyoncé during the latter’s tour stop.

Interestingly, the song, which they co-wrote, is part of the Cowboy Carter album. Explaining how she felt singing with Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus said:

“And when you are standing beside her, you can actually feel her desire and her passion. That, to me, is a win. It’s not a trophy. It’s not something physical that you hold or put on a shelf but it’s something that I have. That’s a true win.”

In an interview with Vogue in 2023, Miley Cyrus explained that after her last big arena tour in 2014, she questioned whether she wanted to keep doing it. She said it wasn’t about whether she could, but whether she wanted to live her life for other people’s enjoyment instead of her own. She also reflected on that tour in a series of posts on X, writing

"For clarity I feel connected to my fans NOW more than ever. Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart."

She also said that performing for huge crowds wasn’t what she loved because it felt disconnected and unsafe. Cyrus added in the interview that being in front of 100,000 people felt lonely and unnatural.
