Following Aubrey "Drake" Graham’s release of "What Did I Miss?" on July 5, rapper Fat Joe shared his thoughts about the new track. On the July 8 episode of the Joe and Jada podcast, rapper Jadakiss gave a shoutout to Drizzy for his new track, which, in his opinion, “went crazy.” Joe shared his thoughts about the track, saying:
“I love that track, bro. No doubt. What Did I Miss? I almost reposted cause he had like a little video. You know, I am not going to say it serial, right? But I am a liker.”
He went on:
“So like with Drake, he threw a little video with the new single. I was almost ready to repost that sh*t on my story. I said, ‘You know what, man? I don’t really know who he dissing or nothing like that. Let me just like it and keep it moving.' But I felt the new track was really dope. I listened to it a couple of times and you know, he is one number 1 away from Michael Jackson’s record.”
Fat Joe felt like the spirit of Michael Jackson was pushing back against negativity, as every time Drake released something, it surprised people and stayed strong. He also pointed out that many believed Drizzy would retire, but he proved them wrong by making a strong comeback.
Fat Joe mentioned that his lyrics touched on feeling let down by people he once trusted, which made the song even more powerful. He added:
“I never believed that. But then he came back with that baby girl when he let me see it twirl. I was like, 'Oh sh*t.' You know, and he back on that sh*t. And then he dropped this new song is like he back on that sh*t sh*t. You know what I am saying? So, shout out to Drake, man. The 6 God.”
What did Fat Joe say about Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef?
In an interview with Complex in January 2025, Fat Joe was asked if he thought the feud between Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar would peace out. He thought it was possible, though it might take time. He explained that since there was no violence involved between Drake and Kendrick, it was easier to make peace.
He shared that he and 50 Cent once had serious issues but eventually worked things out. Fat Joe added that once violence is involved, it becomes harder because of pride and loyalty to others. However, without violence, he believed Drake and Kendrick could reconcile someday.
According to HotNewHipHop, when Joe appeared on Big Boy's Neighborhood, he shared his thoughts about the rivalry between the two rappers, saying:
“And then when They Not Like Us. They Not Like Us is a Lean Back. It is a 'Go, shawty!' You got the deal with that record for the next 50 years. There's no way around it. He done f***ed around and made a hit.”
Fat Joe went on to say that Lamar’s GNX album was amazing and full of energy. He compared it to the time when Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were at their peak, selling millions of records. He remembered how intense it felt, like the stadium could collapse from all the excitement.
