Sabrina Carpenter lit up BST Hyde Park over the weekend with a surprise cover of “It’s Raining Men,” bringing her own high-energy twist to the beloved 1983 anthem.
The track, made iconic by The Weather Girls and later reintroduced to a new generation by Geri Halliwell, got the full pop spectacle treatment on Saturday night. Sabrina Carpenter performed the song against a dazzling backdrop of visuals and bold lighting, amping up the crowd just before 9 p.m. on the Great Oak Stage.
The choice to cover the disco-pop classic turned heads and sparked cheers as fans recognized the throwback track almost instantly. It also fit neatly alongside Sabrina Carpenter’s growing presence on the UK charts, where her latest single “Manchild” has been gaining traction.
The performance was part of Sabrina Carpenter’s two-night headline billing at BST Hyde Park, where she played back-to-back shows on July 5 and 6. As fans were treated to her recent hits and signature originals, “It’s Raining Men” stood out as a crowd-pleasing highlight.

Though the performance was new to BST Hyde Park, it wasn’t the first time Sabrina Carpenter took on “It’s Raining Men.”
During her Primavera Sound headlining set in Barcelona last June, she sang the iconic 1980s hit, giving the disco classic a pop refresh. She returned to the stage in shimmer and style as the frontrunner of the festival’s second night, gifting the crowd with a blend of her fan-favorite hits and newer tracks.
The Primavera crowd cheered as the pop star leaned into the song’s theatrical flair, and delivered it with a wink combined with her signature stage confidence.
The songstress also debuted her latest single, “Manchild,” at the Spanish festival, and celebrated the one-year anniversary of her chart-topping hit “Please Please Please.”
This was her first performance in months as she took a pause between legs of the Short n’ Sweet tour.
