Fans are left absolutely stunned over Sabrina Carpenter's new Rolling Stone cover.
Sabrina Carpenter just graced the cover of the July-August issue of the Rolling Stone Magazine, and all it says is the 2000s pop stars are back. In the risque cover the Disney starlet is posing nude with the exception of white thigh high stockings and a random white pump heel on the side. To show a little modicum of modesty or to in Sabrina's way dramatically appear sheepish, she covers herself with her arms and almost floor length blonde curly tresses.
The cover, though eye catching and bold, caused a bit of discourse on the internet. This is the second time the pop star has caused an uproar this past week, the first being the release of the album art of her upcoming album "Man's Best Friend." The artwork for the same showcased Sabrina Carpenter posing on all fours in a black mini dress and matching high-heels, looking at the camera, while a supposed man is grabbing her by her hair.
The latest single release Manchild, which is also part of this new controversial album, also started debates in the fandom on who it is about, and how she seems to be targeting men in this new musical era. But whatever the "Espresso" singer's thought process is, one this is pretty clear, that Ms. Carpenter is in her revenge era and taking a page from Y2k icons like Britney, Christina Aguelera, Mariah Carey and more, she is going to be controversial and loud.
Fans react to Sabrina Carpenter's cover
The internet was left stunned over the new cover, whether in a good way or a bad way, that's debatable. Some fans loved the shoot encompanying this cover, while some fans thought it as powerful, feminine and bold. However, some disgruntled fans didnt agree with the nudity and childlike or lolita inspired "message" and visual imagery.
One user stated, "her desperation for a sliver of attention from the male gaze has gotten embarrassing. I miss the old sabrina"
Fans refuted to these statements saying,
"What’s wrong with wanting to look good and get a time capsule of what she looks like right now? In years, she can look back and think, “Yeah, I looked good.” Can’t she be proud of her body? Why do you have to shame her? What happened to sex positivity?", as one fan stated.
Another expressed, "People really think she’s doing this for male approval, just showing their sexism. Women can embrace their sexuality and be proud of their bodies for their own personal satisfaction, not just to please men."
And one fan claimed, "she is bringing real pop star eras back"
Sabrina Carpenter's new album is set to come out on 29th August, 6 days after the release of Short n Sweet, which came out on 23rd August 2024.
