"On a random Tuesday with Amy and Jack not too long after finishing short n’ sweet and it ended up being the best random tuesday of my life. Not only was it so fun to write, but this song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life."

Before gossip columns speculated whether Sabrina Carpenter targeted Barry Keoghan in Manchild, she made the headlines months ago for her alleged romance with the Saltburn actor.

In December 2023, the duo was seen enjoying a dinner date in Los Angeles, according to a People Magazine report. Their first public outing together stirred a buzz about their romance.

While Carpenter and Keoghan never commented to confirm their relationship, their public appearances strongly indicated they were dating.

At the Grammys afterparty in February 2024, the pair made their first public appearance as a couple. Their rumored relationship prompted chatter when the actor attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Singapore to support Carpenter during her performance.

That year in May, they also attended the Met Gala together. Barry also starred in Sabrina's Please Please Please music video, further sending fans into a frenzy.

In December 2024, reports emerged that the celebrity couple had taken a break from their relationship. An insider revealed to People Magazine,

"They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break."

On June 5, 2025, Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild will drop at 8 P.M. ET.
