The Used are celebrating 25 years in the post-hardcore scene. As a part of the celebration, the band has announced a dark fantasy graphic novel inspired by their 2004 track All That I've Got.
The new comic has been officially titled All That I've Got. The graphic novel is going to be a reimagined take on the beloved song's themes and music video. The book is being created in partnership with Sumerian Comics. It is officially set for release on September 10, 2025. Notably, pre-orders are currently available at the official website of Sumerian Comics.
This release comes in the middle of the band's 25th Anniversary Tour, which features full album performances of the band's first three records: The Used (2002), In Love and Death (2004), and Lies for the Liars (2007). The newly announced graphic novel draws directly from the second album's track and its video, reports suggest.
The Used took to their official Instagram page to share the announcement. Their post read:
"Celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Used, the band and Sumerian team up to present this graphic novel inspired by the bands music video for “All That I've Got”. Now available for preorder via sumerian.ink."
The post explicates the plot of the graphic novel. It revolves around Gage, who belongs to the Mended Hearts orphanage, as he discovers a barbed-wire-bound book at The Used Bookstore.
It states:
"At Mended Hearts orphanage, Gage is just another forgotten child with a blank past and a vivid imagination. Haunted by dreams of faceless parents and tormented by bullies, he finds solace in the strange white rabbit that appears outside his window—leading him, one fateful night, to The Used Bookstore. Among the dusty stacks, Gage discovers a mysterious, barbed-wire-bound book with no description and a haunting cover: a weathered oak tree with a heart hanging from a noose. Its pages seem to know him, and when the final chapter is found blank, the line between fiction and reality begins to blur."
The Used concluded by stating that the narrative is catered to all ages:
"Transported into a surreal and decaying world where hearts hang from trees and a forgotten manor hides its secrets, Gage must navigate a dark fairy tale of twisted forests, strange allies, and cryptic truths. As the story unfolds around him, Gage realizes this isn't just any tale—it's his. And the ending isn’t written… yet. 168 pages, hardcover, full color, all ages."
More on The Used
The band was formed in 2001 in Orem, Utah. They rose to fame with their self-titled debut project in 2002. Their second album, In Love and Death, released in 2004, was partly inspired by the death of frontman Bert McCracken's ex-girlfriend.
All That I've Got was released as the second single from that record. It became one of the band's most beloved tracks. The official music video featured visuals of a dream and a nightmare. It depicted a world of symbolism and grief. It is believed to be this dreamscape that will now form the base for the upcoming comic. The narrative is written in collaboration with Garrett Gunn, illustrated by PJ Kaiowa, the color is by Francesca Carotenuto, and the lettering is by Micah Myers.
