Sabrina Carpenter’s seventh studio album is already rewriting records just days after its release. Man’s Best Friend, which dropped August 29, has now become the most-streamed album in a single day by a female artist on Spotify in 2025.

The platform confirmed the achievement on September 2, sending Sabrina Carpenter’s fans into celebration mode across social media. Spotify posted on Instagram:

"On August 30th, Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Man’s Best Friend’ became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day by a female artist in 2025."

The pop star herself also joined in the excitement. On her Instagram Stories, she shared the streaming giant's announcement of her latest milestone, and added a short but heartfelt response:

“This blows my mind.”

She followed with another note to listeners:

“Can’t thank you enough for listening.”

“I can’t believe this. Thank you so much for listening.”

Man's Best Friend: “This should be in the world”

The milestone arrives at the height of Sabrina Carpenter’s current career upswing.

Man's Best Friend was preceded by the lead single Manchild, her second career chart-topper. The track quickly built momentum following her 2024 oeuvre Short n' Sweet, which birthed multiple hits like Please Please Please and the cultural juggernaut Espresso.

Despite the pressure of following up such a blockbuster album, the Bed Chem hitmaker revealed she didn’t allow herself to feel boxed in while creating the new record.

In her recent tell-all with Interview magazine, she explained her process with a sense of calm focus.

“I was just like, ‘This is no different than when I was making the last album.’”

She added that she didn’t impose deadlines on herself:

“Nobody told me I needed to put it out at any date. If I felt inspired, I would just write. You can write and it doesn’t have to be for anything.”

Nonetheless, the singer believes in pushing through it with determination:

"But if you listen back to it and you go, 'This should be in the world; I want people to hear this,' then that starts to become more real. And that’s kind of what happened."

When asked about her reaction to people's responses regarding Man's Best Friend, Sabrina Carpenter said it was "fascinating."

"So the reaction is fascinating to me. You just watch it unravel and go, 'Wow.'”

The songstress's original album cover features her down on all fours while a man in a suit, his face hidden, grabs her by the hair. The art quickly drew uproar for its contentious subtext and the singer even released a new album cover.

But for Sabrina Carpenter's folks, they gave it two thumbs up. The singer shared:

"People that have no idea who I am absolutely look at that photo and go, like, ‘Where are her parents?’ My parents actually saw the photo and they loved it.”
