Rappers Ice Spice and Latto have released their new official music video, Gyatt. During a recent stream with Kai Cenat, he told the singers that the name of their album was initially coined by content creator YourRAGE.
As seen in an old video on his YouTube channel, YourRAGE said that the word has been in use for centuries. He explained:
“I did not create the origin. Origin has been used for many centuries but everybody used to say, ‘Goddamn’ or ‘Gah-lee.’ But I said it weird. I’d always say Gyatt. I would never say Gah damn. Chat realized that and a way of making fun of me in 2020, they started typing, ‘Gyatt’ to mock me. Nobody used to say ‘Gyatt.’ They would be like Gah damn.”
According to YourRAGE, the term can be used to explain surprise or a shocking reaction to something.
During a recent stream, the creator reacted to the word being used in a song, which he said was surprising, as it had been a long time since people used this word. He said he received messages from people saying he was not the original creator of the term, and it has been used since 2003. YourRAGE said:
“If that's the case, isn't there a way to check when words were like topics were being used? chat.”
He also said that his first Gyatt was in 2020, but TikTok made it famous in 2023. Meanwhile, Kai Cenat had previously claimed that he did not coin the term but only used it a couple of times.
How did YourRAGE react to Ice Spice and Latto’s Gyatt?
Looking at the cover of Ice Spice and Latto’s Gyatt music video, YourRAGE commented on Ice Spice’s appearance. He noticed that hher neck area looked different, suggesting she might have changed something, though he added that it wasn’t necessary. He still thought she looked great, especially her legs and thighs.
While playing music, he joked that the video better include some dancing similar to other music videos. Midway into the song, he said:
“This is this is a brain rot a**osong, bro. This all f*cking brain rot. The f*ck is happening. I ain't going to lie.”
When the song got over, YourRAGE said:
“That's one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life. I'm not even going to cap. That sh*t was f*cking brain rot, bro. That sound like a song f*cking Stable Ronaldo would make in his f*cking room on FL Studio gang.”
Ice Spice and Latto had a beef in the past. Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2024, Ice Spice said that if they ever sat down and she asked Latto what the problem was, there probably wouldn’t even be a real answer.
She explained that she supported healthy and professional competition, but felt Latto had dragged it on too long, which, over time, she considered more amusing than serious. She also pointed out that Latto’s song Think U the Shit had come out way back in January.
