Country singer Gavin Adcock is making headlines after a heated exchange involving Nickelback’s sound engineer at a recent show. The incident goes back to a recent event in South Carolina titled Rock the Country. Mid-performance, he stopped the music to call out a security guard who appeared to be dragging his father from the crowd.
According to Penn Live, the singer then used a few harsh words and threatened that the guard would lose his job. He went back to the stage and said the person was his father, and the security guard had caused trouble.
Later, the country singer shared a series of videos on Instagram, explaining the situation to the viewers. Gavin Adcock said:
“On this week’s episode of dipsh*t of the week is Nickelback’s sound guy. My family been standing there for 17 songs. I watched them the whole show, not causing nay problems. You come up and getting my family’s face, trying to get my dad kicked out and you know what, I got you kicked out. The police drag you out. On top of your head, you b*m. Congratulations, dude. Nickelback sound guy’s a real winner.”
Gavin Adcock clarified that the sound guy was Joe Keiser
In another video, Gavin Adcock said there was a drink on the soundboard, which wasn’t his father’s. It was another person’s mother — the mother of the acoustic guitar player. He said that when the sound guy saw the drink, he threw it away and swore at the guitar player’s mother.
Gavin Adcock’s father tried to intervene after hearing what was going on. His father reportedly stepped in, telling the man that people from the South don’t act that way and that he should walk away.
The singer said he saw the man walk away and make a phone call, which made him suspicious. While Gavin was singing, he noticed security heading toward his dad, probably because the man had complained. Gavin quickly ran over and told security that his dad wasn’t the problem — the sound guy was.
In the end, he said the security took the sound guy away, and the situation was handled. Sharing a post on X, Gavin Adcock wrote:
“Turns out my dad had to step in and defend my acoustic guitar players mom because Nickelbacks sound guy came over and start throwing shit and got all up in her face and cussed her out. I know you’re not from the south buddy but you’re gonna know what it’s like."
Adcock even posted a photo of Joe Keiser with a caption that read:
“And this everybody is Joe Keiser the s**mbag Nickelback sound engineer that likes to get into sweet woman’s faces and degrade them.”
Gavin Adcock previously made headlines for sharing his thoughts about Beyoncé. According to American Songwriter, he said that Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album didn’t sound like real country music and never would be.
Later, on Instagram, he repeated his opinion, saying her album didn’t sound or feel like country music. He argued it wasn’t fair to lifelong country artists to see Beyoncé’s album dominate the charts simply because of her global fame.
