Noel Gallagher sang praises about his brother Liam amidst the ongoing Oasis reunion tour. On August 19, he sat down with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on talkSPORT, where Noel discussed his experiences of the tour. When Goldstein asked how he was feeling on the day of the interview, Noel said he was back from Dublin and felt a bit shaky.

Goldstein said he attended two of the gigs, which he found incredible. When asked whether he was amazed by the audience’s reception of the tour, Noel Gallagher said he was blown away by it. The host praised Liam’s voice, and then Noel said:

“I'm the songwriter, you know what I mean? I'm not really a singer to be honest, but Liam's smashing it. I’m proud of him, you know.”

Andy Goldstein asked Noel Gallagher how emotional it was to hug Liam at the end of their first show. Liam explained that they weren’t usually the type to show emotions like that, but it felt amazing to perform again with Bonehead and to be back in the band with his brother.

He added that they would probably reflect on it more later, but for now, he was just enjoying being reminded of how funny Liam was. Andy Goldstein asked how he felt before the performance, as he would be back with the band performing after a long time. Noel Gallagher said:

“We are not really a band who kind of have huddles before we go on or anything like that. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into.”

Noel Gallagher on the destination he is looking forward to performing and how he utilized his time during the pandemic

During the talkSPORT interview, Noel Gallagher said he was excited to perform at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires that November. He explained it would be the second-to-last show, and since he had played there before, he knew how amazing the Argentinian crowd was. He even said Argentina was one of the top places for them to perform.

In 2021, Noel Gallagher sat down for an interview with Anthony Mason on CBS Mornings, during which his new studio was shown. When asked how he was doing during the COVID-19 pandemic, he said:

“Creatively, it's been the best ever because I've written lots and lots of songs, and songs that were half finished. It's like, ‘Right, well I'll do that today because I don't have anything else to do.”

Noel Gallagher talked about his time in Oasis and said that after leaving such a famous and loved band, he didn’t want his solo career to feel like a weaker or “diet” version of the former band. He wanted it to stand on its own and be different. When asked if the journey had been liberating, Noel said:

“In the sense, I’m allowed to work at my own pace and I'm not writing songs for a brand. You know, we were a stadium rock band, therefore I was writing stadium rock songs. I was writing for another singer.”

He also shared that Wonderwall was one of his least-favorite recordings. However, he said the song is yet to be finished.
