Matt Pinfield recently returned to the public eye with a "golden" gift in hand.
The former MTV VJ, who is mainly known for hosting 120 Minutes, suffered a major stroke earlier this year that left him in a coma for nearly two months. His recovery journey has reportedly been tough.
However, the rock and radio personality has taken his steps to recovery with notable determination. Among the multiple gestures of support he has received so far is a custom cane, which Ozzy Osbourne has handpicked from his personal collection.
The beloved heavy metal figure has himself gone through health battles. He sent Matt Pinfield a token of encouragement: a gold-handled cane engraved with the name "Ozzy." The gift was seemingly a message of solidarity between two rock icons who have faced health struggles.
Matt Pinfield has been slowly regaining his ability to walk. He took to his official Instagram page to share the story behind the cane gift from Ozzy. He described the gift as "a beautiful surprise" and said he was "absolutely floored" to know that Ozzy Osbourne had personally selected it.
Below is what Matt said on the gift:
"Once in a while an act of kindness and friendship can make your day (or your year!). When I got this beautiful surprise gift from one of my rock ‘n roll heroes, I was completely blown away!!! The one and only Ozzy Osbourne, who I discovered at 9 years old with the Black Sabbath album, Paranoid, sent me one of his own personal engraved custom canes."
He also added:
"I was absolutely floored when it appeared because I learned Ozzy handpicked it out from his personal collection. Couldn’t think of a more thoughtful gift for a man who loves rock and roll, and is recovering from a life threatening experience! Thank you Ozzy, Sharon, Michael G, and Keith!! I love you all!!!! Matt Pinfield has also shared updates on his path to recovery. One of his recent Instagram posts read:
"Learning to Walk again literally. The fight continues..but everyday a little better and I can promise you I won’t stop working hard at my recovery. Much love to you all for all the continued support. There is so much power in your prayers, words and well wishes."
