My Chemical Romance performed at the Soldier Field stage in Chicago on Friday, August 29, 2025. On this stop of their "Long Live: The Black Parade" tour, the band delivered a complete performance of the group's beloved 2006 album, The Black Parade.
The Chicago performance became memorable mainly for two reasons. First, the band used the show to honor their late former drummer Bob Bryar. His image appeared on the screens during the concert.
Second, the band surprised the crowd by bringing out Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan for a surprise performance of his band's track "Bullet With Butterfly Wings."
The "Long Live: The Black Parade" tour is a revival of an idea that My Chemical Romance first staged nearly 20 years ago. In 2007, the band "killed off" their fictional alter-egos from The Black Parade after the album's cycle. However, they resurrected the characters in 2024 for festival appearances.
