Legendary punk band Sex Pistols, joined by vocalist Frank Carter, has officially announced the cancellation of their 2025 North American tour after guitarist Steve Jones suffered a broken wrist.

The trek was originally scheduled to be the Sex Pistols' first run across the U.S. and Canada in over 20 years. Shows were set for multiple cities, including Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia, Montreal, Toronto, and Los Angeles. The tour cancellation announcement first came from Jones.

Later, the band confirmed that all shows have been postponed. They have plans to reschedule the dates after Jones' recovery. Ticket holders are advised to follow venue updates and official band channels for new dates when they are announced.

Sex Pistols' complete statement regarding the 2025 North American tour cancellation

Frank Carter and other members collaborated with their official Instagram pages to announce:

"We have some unfortunate news to share about our upcoming North and South American performances. We will let Steve explain what's going on: "I have got some good news and bad news. What do you want first? Okay, the bad news: I have broken my wrist, so unfortunately we won't be doing any shows for a while. The good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I will be 70 tomorrow! God bless, and God save the wrist.""

The post continued:

"The performances will be postponed and rescheduled when Steve has fully recovered. Please check local venue websites and our social media for more information. We appreciate your understanding and support."

The Sex Pistols had not played a North American tour since 2003, when original frontman John Lydon fronted the band. This time, Frank Carter was set to step into the role. However, the injury to Steve Jones came at the worst possible time. Moreover, as the tour was a few weeks away, there might have been no chance to bring in a temporary replacement.
