SZA has spoken out about the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) and its effects on people and the environment. She shared her thoughts on social media, telling her fans that she is raising awareness on this issue. Her Instagram stories and posts on social media pointed to how AI systems and their energy centers are connected to pollution and harm in Black and Brown communities.

One of the Instagram story shared by her was captioned:

"Yall im not crazy i swear i'm just tryna save the children."

SZA called out big companies for putting profit and convenience before people’s lives. She argued that these firms are building AI centers in vulnerable communities and ignoring the impact on residents. She also urged people to research the costs of AI and think carefully about how much society depends on machines.

SZA's warning about AI and pollution in communities

SZA pointed to AI energy centers as a major source of pollution. She said these centers are creating health problems in areas where many Black and Brown families live. According to her, children are the most at risk because they are growing up near pollution that harms their bodies.

In her posts, she named Memphis as one of the places where AI energy centers are linked to rising health issues. Historically Black neighborhoods there have seen the effects of pollution, which adds to existing problems of environmental racism. For SZA, this shows that AI is not neutral but tied to larger issues of inequality.

She said: " Hey I hate Ai, if you f*ck w with me PLEASE don't make any Ai images of me or songs. Ppl and children are dying from the harm n pollution Ai energy centers are creating. A stupid photo is not worth polluting and harming under served cummunities. Thank you."

She further added:

"Ps. PLEASE NOW EVERY TIME U USE OR PROMPT AI SOMEONE IN a forgotten community IS SUFFERING eventually the effects will reach everyone. By then it'll be too late. Bless"

Her message is that AI does not care about human life. It is only as safe as the companies running it, and right now, those companies are not putting communities first. By speaking up, she wants people to connect technology with the real damage it can cause to everyday lives.

SZA’s warning about AI highlights the need to look at more than just what the technology can do. She connected AI to pollution, environmental racism, and health issues in communities of color. Her message was simple: AI has costs that cannot be ignored.

She asked people to research, think, and question the role of AI in daily life. For her, the issue is about children, families, and the future. By speaking out, SZA has added her voice to the growing debate about AI’s risks and the responsibility of those who create it.
