Zach Bryan just confirmed what fans have been speculating for months: With Heaven on Top is officially arriving on January 9, 2026.

The announcement dropped alongside his surprise release of Madeline, a heartfelt track featuring Gabriella Rose, sparking excitement and questions across his fanbase.

The country-rock star shared the release date with a simple but enthusiastic post:

“January 9th!!!!”

Paired with what appears to be the album’s cover — Zach Bryan kneeling in a forest next to his dog, Jack — it signaled a more formal and carefully planned rollout than his usual low-key style.

The album's title font mirrors that of Madeline, hinting that the new single will likely be part of the upcoming project. This aligns with Zach Bryan’s history of subtly linking visual aesthetics across releases.

But the wait until January has raised some eyebrows. In February, the country singer noted that the project With Heaven on Top would be “coming soon”. For many fans, nearly a full year doesn’t quite qualify. His previous November 2024 singles, This World's a Giant and High Road, were widely expected to be part of the project, but now their inclusion is unclear.

Initially, With Heaven on Top was rumored to be an EP, with Motorbreath assumed to be the title of his next full-length. That theory came after he previewed a documentary titled Motorbreath, featuring a voiceover by Matthew McConaughey.

With this, Zach Bryan’s fans are left to wonder: is Motorbreath now shelved, or has it taken a backseat to what looks like a fully realized album in With Heaven on Top?

Zach Bryan hasn’t addressed the shift, but the early announcement and detailed rollout signal a new approach for the usually spontaneous artist.

Just dropped: “Madeline” captures long-distance ache in Zach Bryan and Gabriella Rose’s stirring duet

Zach Bryan returns with another emotionally charged release, this time teaming up with rising country artist Gabriella Rose for the poignant duet Madeline, which dropped on Friday.

The song opens with Bryan’s raw, gravel-toned vocals laid over soft guitar strums, painting a picture of nostalgia and regret:

“And there’s a picture of us holding up a pitcher of our favorite beer / I’m tryna slow down this year, they can’t hold it like I used to.”

Rose’s verse enters like a quiet echo, laced with distance and longing:

“I ain’t never felt as lonely as I do tonight in this nice hotel / Twelve hundred miles from that sh*t motel you kissed me softly in / Well, I heard you been on the road, West Coast, just song singing / Are you coming home again?”

The track showcases a conversation between two lovers still tied to their past, despite the distance and silence between them.

Following the release, Gabriella Rose shared her excitement about the release on Instagram:

“So honored to be part of this beautiful song with one of the most legendary and talented songwriters ever.”

The duet marks a quiet yet powerful addition to Bryan’s growing catalog, as well as a breakout moment for Rose, whose voice sticks around after the closing chord.
