Addison Rae revived her viral "hydrated" meme after reflecting on the humorous moment during the Quelin Blackwell YouTube series. The 24-year-old singer and Diet Pepsi hitmaker recently released her highly anticipated album titled "Addison" and has been actively promoting it.

Addison talks about her career, name change, and more in the video. However, fans were pleasantly surprised when she brought up her viral TikTok “hydrated” meme.

For the uninformed, the trend started with a video featuring Addison Rae. In the clip, she was asked to say "hydrated" to the camera while drinking a bottle of water. However, she mistakenly thought she was being asked to say "Hi, Drated," assuming Drated was a person's name. The highlight of the moment was when she realized her error and burst out laughing.

Addison defends herself on the eating series with digital designer Quenlin Blackwell.

“Hi, Drated,” she begins with a laugh.
“Well, I just want a moment to defend that moment. But I hate defending 'cause I have nothing to defend actually because I am honest about who I am.”

She continues:

“That was also a time everybody was asking everyone to say hi to their friends, you know what I mean. People would come up to you, which still happens sometimes, but not as much as in Covid. People were like say hi to my friends, blah blah blah. And so I was like, oh, say hi as I normally do whenever they come up to me and ask me to say hi to somebody, and I was like, ‘Hi, Drated,” she concluded with a laugh.

“Well, I didn’t really talk about it. But I’ve said it in an interview like, ‘Oh, I think I’ve just grown past being called Addison Rae,’ and then the album being named Addison was kind of like a tie-in for that,” Addison shared with Blackwell.

Furthermore, Addison revealed that she never hopped on the ChatGPT trend, despite it being a dominating global phenomenon. Rae cut Quenlin off when she started reading an introduction, asking, “Who wrote this?” Blackwell replies, “Chat GPT.”

“You know I’ve never used it,” Addison Rae added.

When asked if it was because she didn't believe in the ethics, Addison replied, “Yeah.”
