Selena Gomez took to her official Instagram account to share a carousel that included 12 slides of pictures and short videos. The post captured the I Said I Love You First hitmaker's life in recent weeks.
It included a mirror selfie of the Disney star in a structured black outfit, a close-up photo with a brown teddy bear, a plate of various pasta flavors, a video of her bowling, and another video of her enjoying a piggyback ride with her fiancé, Benny Blanco.
In one of the slides, Selena Gomez, sporting a sleek ponytail, poses in a full-length mirror selfie. The singer ditched her pants in favor of an oversized white tee with red detailing along the neckline, arm cuffs, and text in a curvy 70’s inspired style.
The text which reads: “You're my cherry pie” is a sweet message from Selena to Benny Blanco, taken from the lyrics of their joint music Sunset Blvd. Benny commented under her post, "ur my cherry pie," and added a red heart emoji at both ends of the comment.
More details on Selena Gomez’s Sunset Blvd
Sunset Blvd is the second single by Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco from their first joint studio album, I Said I Love You First. The song was released on March 14, 2025, and was composed by Gomez and Blanco alongside Cashmere Cat, Amanda Ibanez, Michael Pollack, Justin Tranter and Jeremy Malvin. The sweet message on Selena Gomez’s shirt, “You’re my cherry,” can be found in the song's first verse.
“You're my cherry pie/ I don't care who knows it/ Love me 'til I die/ Bury me with roses/ I know you're awfully shy/ But I can't wait to hold it, to hold that.”
In an album commentary shared by Genius, Selena Gomez describes Sunset Blvd as different things. She revealed that the title of the song is actually the name of the place where she and Blanco had their first date.
“Sunset Blvd’ is, is, um, a lot of different things. It’s of the place that, of, actually, sorry. 'Sunset Blvd' is where we had our first date. We drove in this beautiful car, and he drove, and I drove. We switched spots because I thought he was a terrible driver, but it turns out I’m not any better. We went to this place called 'Jitlada,' and, um, I don’t know, it’s just one of those nights that changed my life, and I’ll always be grateful for it. Plus, it kind of just is self-explanatory, I guess.”
Benny Blanco also gives his thoughts on the single in a statement to Rolling Stone:
“This song was exactly that. It was us in the room laughing, being like, can we really get away with it? Is this really something we’re gonna do? That’s when the best moments come out. A lot of artists won’t do stuff like that. And Selena has the perfect way of dipping her toe in the water of, like, almost too far, but not — but, like, is it? And it’s because she’s so multifaceted.”
