Taylor Swift has released four limited-edition acoustic CD variants, which are related to her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The surprise drop comes a day after the album's official launch. Fans reacted, saying:

"you are so desperate to beat adele’s record"

A description of the acoustic CD variants on the official Taylor Swift website reads:

"The Life of a Showgirl (Life is a Song Acoustic Version) CD Includes: Opalite (Life is a Song Acoustic Version) Ruin the Friendship (My Advice Version)Ships on or about October 6, 2025. Limited Quantity Available. This product is available until 10/05/25 at 6:59PM EST or while supplies last. 14 Tracks."

It also added:

"Jewel case with collectible front and back cover art. 1 disc with collectible disc artwork. Limit 4 per customer. U.S. Customers Only. This product is only available to customers using both a U.S. billing and shipping address for their order. Depiction of this product is a digital rendering and for illustrative purposes only. Actual product detailing may vary."

Notably, Taylor Swift's latest album sold 2.7 million copies on its first day in the U.S. It is second to Adele's 25, which sold about 3.378 million in its first week. The new acoustic CDs will be available "for 24 hours or while supplies last." Taylor Swift teased that the acoustic tracks were "saved for the finale."

Taylor Swift took to her official Instagram to announce the acoustic CDs, captioning:

"File this under “save your best for the finale”… I think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic/unplugged versions of a few of the Showgirl songs with brand new vocals and production! Cannot WAIT for you to hear: ❤️‍🔥 Life Is A Song Acoustic Version with “Opalite (Life Is A Song Acoustic Version)” and “Ruin the Friendship (My Advice Version)” ❤️‍🔥 Dressing Room Rehearsal Version with “Wi$h Li$t (Settled Down Acoustic Version)” and “The Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version)”"
