Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny took center stage as host of SNL on Saturday, October 4, 2025. It was the start of Saturday Night Live's 51st season. Bad Bunny returned to Studio 8H for his second time as host and fourth overall appearance on SNL.
Notably, this comes a week after he was announced as the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner. Following the announcement, conservative commentators have been fuming online about the NFL's choice. Netizens questioned why a Spanish-speaking artist would represent the event. Some also reacted to Bad Bunny's SNL monologue, saying:
"u have to press 1 for english"
Bad Bunny hit the SNL stage and addressed the Super Bowl backlash in both English and Spanish. He said:
"I am really excited to be doing the Super Bowl, and I know that people around the world who all love my music are also happy. Especially all the Latinos in the entire world and here in the United States. All the people who have worked to open doors. More than an accomplishment of mine, it's an accomplishment for all of us, demonstrating that our hard work in this country will never be taken away from us or erased."
Internet reactions to Bad Bunny's SNL monologue
Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to post a clip of Bad Bunny's SNL monologue, captioning:
"Bad Bunny’s SNL monologue."
Fans did not wait long before weighing in on the comment section of the X post to share their thoughts about Bad Bunny's monologue. Below are some of their reactions:
"He does not want the 70’s era to be over. Always showcasing it in his outfits. Beautiful looking man though 😎", praised an X user.
"He is entertaining, charismatic&his music is good but ppl act as if hes a god..my opinion. Happy for his fans. Liked that Jon Hamm was in on the bit to make fun of himself, if a bit cringe🤷♀️", expressed another.
"TBH... this just wasnt funny... but I do hope he brings us an exciting halftime show. I wish him much luck!!", opined a third.
Others also chimed in:
"This isn’t just comedy. It’s charisma. Bad Bunny jokes in two languages, roasts his thirst traps, and gets help from Pedro Pascal, SNL goes bilingual.", declared a netizen.
"Bad Bunny delivered a hilarious SNL monologue mixing English and Spanish, poking fun at fame, language barriers, and Puerto Rican pride.", lauded another.
"Fair. If he is learning English for Hollywood, y’all can learn a little Spanish for the Super Bowl. Music is a universal language but maybe subtitles aren’t such a bad idea for those still catching up. 😉", commented a third.
