‘Something about them is endearing’: Fans go wild over Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson dating rumors after viral photo

Word on the streets is that Megan Thee Stallion and NBA superstar Klay Thompson are dating. Speculations began after the rapper posted photos on her Instagram account on July 9, 2025, of herself sitting by the poolside.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to zoom in on the image, trying to figure out the identity of the man who sat on the lounge chair in a white tank and swimming trunks. While several netizens seemed sure that the mystery man was none other than Thompson, others maintained that the man’s profile in the video was blurred, and thus, one can’t say for certain if it’s Klay Thompson.

The "Savage" hitmaker was previously linked with Chicago Bulls player Torrey Craig. On August 29, 2024, Megan accidentally shared a TikTok video of herself and Craig doing a couple’s challenge. The video, which she later deleted, showed the rapper and Craig answering questions about their relationship with their eyes shut.

Before Craig, Megan Thee Stallion was reported to have dated Pardison Fontaine. She met him while working on the "Savage" remix track. Prior to that, Megan was linked with Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, who was found guilty of assaulting Stallion on December 23, 2022.

@chefgaze joined the X users speculating on the rapper’s relationship and posted photographs placed side-by-side for comparison of Megan at the pool and the photo of a man being allegedly identified as Klay Thompson soaking in the sun some meters away from her. The user captioned the post as follows:

“MEGAN IS DATING KLAY THOMPSON???!”

Another user, (@wsgadlibs) showed support for the rumored relationship, stating:

“No, because I see Megan Thee Stallion & Klay Thompson together and I believe in love again even though I'm going through the worst heartbreak of my life. Something about them is so endearing!”

Others seemed to share a similar sentiment:

“I hope so, I love me some Klay and Meg!!!” @theoneneva2 added.

“Wait, what?! That’s the ultimate power couple, Megan’s vibes and Kay’s game? Tell me everything!” @dewdropstephie gushed.

Other X users didn’t seem convinced that the duo is dating:

“Or it's two celebrities prolly hanging out at the same spot. Just like how regular ppl can run into each other or go to the same pool. Celebrities do too, because guess what…. They’re people like us,” @limitedtime365 stated.
