Demi Lovato has announced her comeback to pop music with the unveiling of her new single "Fast," which is going to be released on August 1. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the song since the singer teased her new track with a moonlit cityscape video a couple of weeks ago.

The song was announced by the singer on Instagram with the release of a series of photos from her production set, and the announcement was captioned as:

"me when i serve my favorite dish… FAST OUT FRIDAY 8.1."

Fans have also taken to the idea of Lovato making her comeback to pop music, and the news has been met with a lot of enthusiasm from fans. "Fast" will give fans the first glimpse into Demi's return to pop music, and the excitement amongst fans is attested by the rowdy cheers witnessed throughout various social networking sites.

According to Billboard, Demi is also working on her upcoming album, which is currently in its last stages. Producer Zhone has brought a fresh energy to her upcoming album, and he also spoke about how the album was shaping up in an interview with Rolling Stone.

"It’s been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up. She is such a master in the studio. This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music! It really comes across throughout."

Demi Lovato first declared her intentions to make pop music last year in an interview with Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, and the anticipation is about to come to a head in the coming days.
