Snoop Dogg is celebrating Spirit Day with love. The American rapper partnered with GLAAD and endorsed the celebration, which is dedicated to supporting queer youth. Snoop talked with Jeremy Beloate about queer children and families. He wore a purple outfit, including a purple bandana, to showcase his support.
Snoop, in an interview with Jeremy, discussed how the queer community is gradually being accepted into society.
“It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is … being able to have parents from all walks of life, whether it be two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key.”
In a statement, he also discussed his partnership with GLAAD. He revealed that it felt right to partner with the platform, adding that love always wins.
“Partnering with GLAAD for Spirit Day just felt right, because spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do. We’re showin’ the next generation that kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins.”

Still celebrating Spirit Day, Snoop Dogg released a new song, Love is Love. The song celebrates the love of family and was featured in an episode of Snoop’s YouTube children’s series Doggyland. The "Love is Love" video featured several same-sex couples while children sang in the background.
The lyrics read:
“Our parents are different / No two are the same / But the one thing that’s for certain is the love won’t change. Families are special / They are so unique / Everybody’s got a purpose, more than what you see.”
Snoop Dogg described the song as a way of bringing understanding to confused children.
“These are things that kids have questions about, so now hopefully we can help answer these questions and help them to live a happy life and understand that love is love,” he said.
Snoop Dogg’s GLAAD interview comes several weeks after his controversial August interview, where the rapper criticized the 2022 Pixar film Lightyear for putting a same sex couple in the story.
