The song ranks at the top of our list because of the balance of both music and vocals. The song focuses on talking about the memories and moments shared with someone special. 2) Morning on K RoadTalking about the origin of the song, Steve Gunn said in the statement reported by StereoGum,"I was in the city one morning, out early, and I had a chance encounter with a friend who I hadn’t seen in a long time. Someone who I would regularly see in New York. The song was born from that brief, almost surreal moment of reconnection."The song is perfect to relax to, with its soothing notes and balanced musical flow, something that Steve Gunn is famous for.3) Nearly ThereNearly There is one of the most calming songs on the album, with the lyrics:"Now come along, beloved/ And soon we shall be there/ Then we'll have some good rest/ And sleep there"The song perfectly balances lyrics and instruments, focusing more on the music in the middle with fewer lines. The song has more of an overall lo-fi vibe, perfect to uplift the mood.4) LoonLoon is a perfect song for a long drive or if you're just sitting and enjoying your time alone. The song comprises a mix of musical tunes, which makes it extra special and unique for the entire album, Daylight Daylight. The song's lyrics feel like thinking about life and listening to nature. Overall, it definitely ranks in our top five.5) Another FadeUnlike other songs, the song starts with musical tunes straight for over a minute, with Steve opening for it with the lyrics:"I was born yesterday/Fickle town/ How differently you welcome me/ Haven't been around."If you enjoyed 'Goodbye' from the Dark series, you might like this track too, as it shares the same kind of tune and focus on the lyrics but with a gentler musical tone.6) Daylight DaylightSteve Gunn, while talking to Rolling Stone, revealed that he wrote the title song, Daylight Daylight, in his Brooklyn apartment's kitchen. According to him, the song is:"A sense of impending doom, but also a sense of peace, and finding hope within this chaos."Along with the word "daylight," the song also has repetition of the words darkness and head back throughout the song. While the song is a masterpiece in itself, with the other stronger songs on the album, Daylight Daylight, it ranks slightly lower on our list.7) A WalkSimilar to Another Fade, A Walk also starts with instrumental music for a minute before Steve Gunn takes over. The song is slow and relaxed and carries a calm vibe. However, with other similar songs on the album, it ranks lower on our list, as it doesn't stand out as much as the other songs on the album, Daylight Daylight. Also read: Laura Cox Trouble Coming: Every track ranked from best to worst
