Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ breaks 2025 records on iTunes, Apple Music, and Amazon Music

Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album and latest musical project, The Life of a Showgirl, has broken records and made history just a few hours after its release.

The Life of a Showgirl was released on Friday, October 3, 2025, and has already broken records across numerous streaming platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and iTunes. Based on first-day streams, the album became the biggest album of 2025 on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and iTunes.

“As of 10 am EDT today, The Life of a Showgirl has become the most-streamed album of 2025 in its first day on Amazon Music globally,” Amazon Music wrote on Instagram.

Spotify announced on Instagram:

“On October 3rd, Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl became Spotify's most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 so far.”

Apple Music also announced:

“The Life of a Showgirl now holds the record for Apple Music's biggest album of 2025 by first-day streams worldwide.”

In addition to The Life of a Showgirl breaking records within hours of its release, the album’s lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history and the most-streamed 2025 song on its first day on Apple Music.

The Life of a Showgirl was released on Friday, October 3, 2025, as the singer’s twelfth studio album. Taylor Swift wrote and produced the album with Max Martin and Shellback. The duo first worked with Swift on her 2017 album, Reputation.

The album contains twelve tracks, including The Fate of Ophelia, Opalite, Elizabeth Taylor, Father Figure, Eldest Daughter, Wish List, Ruin the Friendship, Actually Romantic, Honey, Wood, Cancelled!, and The Life of a Showgirl.

Shortly after the album’s release, the fourteen-time Grammy winner shared a thank-you message on her Instagram:

“I can't tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right. A forever thank you goes out to my mentors and friends Max and Shellback for helping me paint this self portrait.”

She continued:

“If you thought the big show was wild, perhaps you should come and take a look behind the curtain... The Life of a Showgirl is out now. Album Producers: Max Martin, Shellback and Taylor Swift.”
