Adam Ramey, the lead vocalist and co-founder of rap-metal band Dropout Kings, died by suicide on May 19, 2025, at the age of 31. His bandmates shared the news through an emotional post on social media, where they described the loss as deeply personal and heartbreaking.

In their message, they recalled the bond they had formed over the years, both as musicians and as close friends. The post ended with a simple but powerful line:

“Thank you for everything.”

It reflected not only their grief but also their appreciation for all that Ramey contributed to their journey.

Family says Adam Ramey had been fighting personal struggles for a long time

Ramey's sister-in-law created a GoFundMe page to help his wife and young son. She wrote that Ramey had been struggling with addiction for years. Despite his problems, he always tried to help the people around him.

His death came as a huge shock to his family, friends, and fans. Adam Ramey leaves behind his wife, Jamie, and their 18-month-old son, Jude.


The band members talk about their time together and what they built

Dropout Kings was formed after a YouTube music cover gained attention

Before forming Dropout Kings, Adam Ramey was part of another group called The Bad Chapter. After that group ended, he teamed up with Eddie Wellz to create a music cover of “Lying from You” by Linkin Park.

They uploaded it on YouTube in 2016, and it got noticed. This led to the formation of a new project that eventually became Dropout Kings. Their first album, Audiodope, came out in 2018, followed by GlitchGang and Riot Music.


The band had new releases and tour plans shortly before Adam Ramey’s passing

Just a few months ago, in January 2025, the band released a new song called “Poison Run.” They had also announced their upcoming tour covering North America and Europe, which was set to begin soon.

As of now, there is no update on whether the band will continue with the tour. The team has not made further public comments besides the tribute post.
