Abel Tesfaye, popularly known as The Weeknd, has hit a significant milestone in his music career. The 3-year-old pop icon was recently announced as the highest-grossing black male artist to ever perform at MetLife Stadium.

This announcement comes after the "Blinding Lights" hitmaker drew more than 163,000 fans to the East Rutherford, New Jersey, Stadium for his ongoing After Hours til Dawn Stadium Tour.

The Weeknd held three consecutive shows at MetLife Stadium, each selling out the space, breaking previous records at the venue. The three shows, which were held from June 5 to June 7, drew a crowd of over 163,000 people; this attendance surpassed the draw of major events like Governors Ball Music Festival in Queens, which typically attracts over 40,000 attendees.

The After Hours Til Dawn tour has been named highly successful, grossing over $386 million worldwide.
