Sean Diddy Combs and Cassie Ventura's legal battle in 2023 was the precursor of the larger trials against Combs. This ultimately resulted in the recent verdict, in which Combs was acquited of the charges of racketeering and sex trafficking charges and guailty of transportation of former girlfriends for prostitution.

Now however, some are questioning Cassie Ventura's version of events, including Chrisean Rock, who recently took to Ray J's stream to question Ventura's response to Diddy's alleged abuse:

"I feel like he was always innocent. Because... I ain't never spoke up on it, but – or did I? I don't know I spoke on it on Pastor Jamal's interview. But he clipped it out. He asked the question. I was saying we just got to pray for him. Because, s**t, he doing what everybody else would."

Rock continued:

"I don't know, I really feel like he a man with money, so we make whatever he do with his free time a problem. The only thing they getting him for is the domestic part. They say they can't even use that. Every time that somebody take up for him, they always talking about, 'But she got dragged down the hallway.'"

Rock called out Ventura for allegedly not calling 911:

"First, they was trying to be stuck on the freaky stuff. Now they trying to be stuck on – I don't know. It's like a weird situation you don't want to speak up on, because everybody just get to playing. I feel like she wasn't calling 911. There was no 911 calls."

Cassie Ventura settled a lawsuit against Diddy out of court

Cassie Ventura viled a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of decades long cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking. Filed under the Adult Survivors Act, which allows victims to file cases after the statute limitations in New York. The lawsuit was settled out of court for what was later revealed to be a $20 million settlement.

Subsequently, CNN obtained footage of Diddy abusing Ventura in the hallway of the hotel. This incident precipitated a suite of lawsuits against Combs as well as federal charges. The lawsuits itself included 120 lawsuits.

While Combs was acquited for the more serious charges, he has been denied bail pending sentencing. The rapper was accompanied by his family when he left the courthouse.

Agnifilo, part of Diddy's 'dream team' of lawyers that helped him avoid the major charges, stating:

"It’s a great victory for Sean Combs. It’s a great victory for the jury system. You saw that the Southern District of New York prosecutors came at him with all that they had."

One of the sidenotes of the trial was the appearance of a 'Free Puff' and 'Free $Diddy' T shirt wearing protesters. As per an article by The Hollywood Reporter, the Emilie Knows Everything podcast by Emilie Hagen found at the protesters were paid to wear the T-shirts. The video of the interview by the podcast went viral and even drew comments by 50 Cent.

Combs's lesser charges on the two counts still amount to 20 years, as insisted by federal prosecuters. Combs is currently 55. If he serves full prison time, the rapper would be 75 when he is released from prison. Sean Diddy Combs is a well known musician. He released his latest album, The Love Album: Off the Grid, in 2023.
