Linkin Park talks about their performance before the UEFA finals

Linkin Park's transition song is being loved by fans around the world. Mike Shinoda, the co-founder of the band, gave a background on what inspired them in a statement released on May 25 on UEFA's website.

"We wanted to put our spin on it and do something based around the sounds of football. It's built on the sounds of the foot hitting the ball, the ball hitting the net, the fans stomping in the seats. These are the things that, when I've been to a match, strike you as the powerful musical elements of being there."

The band currently stands at 48th rank on Spotify's highest monthly listener chart.
