We are taking a look at the best to worst performances at the VMAs 2025.

Lady Gaga's Abracadabra

When Lady Gaga screams, "Put Your Paws Up", little monsters pay heed. The singer brought to life a gothic theme with Abracadabra and debuted a live performance of her latest single, The Dead Dance.

Sabrina Carpenter's Tears

When one thinks that Sabrina Carpenter has done it all, she brings showers to the stage, quite literally. The singer performed Tears from her newest album, Man’s Best Friend. Colourful, diverse, and sultry, Carpenter brought her best self to the stage.

Tate McCrae

Tate McCrae knows how to command the stage, and on the 2025 VMAs night, she brought the house down with the performances of What Would You Do and Sports Car. Through acrobatic stunts and sitting near her fans, McCrae delivered a vigorous performance.

Medleys: Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes

The VMAs 2025 set the stage for music veterans, including Latin pop and R&B icon Ricky Martin, whose performance was no short of a festival celebration. Other medley performances by Mariah Carey and Busta Rhymes were infused with a nostalgic vibe.

Conan Gray

Gray brought the drama to the stage and channeled a Romeo and Juliet ensemble. He performed his Vodka Cranberry ballad while setting the tone and theme of the track.

Sombr and Alex Warren's Eternity and Ordinary

It has been a year of breakout artists, with Sombr and Alex Warren making it to the top of the list. Alex’s romantic ballad, Ordinary, brought a whimsical touch to the stage, while Eternity fell a little flat. Sombr’s live performance showed his fans that Back To Friends is much more than a track going viral on social media.

Doja Cat's Jealous Type

With Michael Jackson–like dance moves and the use of props on stage, Doja Cat performed Jealous Type. Notably, the singer’s dance break caught attention.

J Balvin, DJ Snake, Justin Quiles, and Lenny Tavárez

Neon colors, boom boxes, and reggaeton vibes highlighted the energetic performances of Zun Zun and Novetta.

Post Malone and Jelly Roll

While their performance displayed camaraderie, an off-stage performance from Germany seemingly dampened their impact.
