Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny is set to headline the 2026 Super Bowl LX Halftime show scheduled on February 8. The singer, who made his debut in 2018 with the album X 100pre, took to his social media to confirm the announcement. Three-time Grammy winner Bunny is familiar with the Super Bowl stage, having been the guest performer during the 2020 Halftime Show, per Billboard.

The news outlet reported that the singer has more than a hundred Top 100 hits, "4 number 1 albums", and has made several acting cameos, more recently in Happy Gilmore 2.

The 31-year-old, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has pushed Latin Music to the forefront. According to WPBF news, he recently wrapped up his first concert residency, 'No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí', in support of his sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl Halftime show, which will be airing from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. In a press release, the singer expressed his excitement and noted,

"“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

Just before the official announcement, Bad Bunny took to his X channel (@sanbenito) and wrote, (roughly translated)

"I've been thinking about it these days, and after talking with my team, I think I'll do just one date in the United States."

Rapper and founder of Roc Nation, Jay-Z, praised the DTMF singer and described his work in Puerto Rico as "inspiring." He added,

"We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

NFL's SVP of Global Event Production, Jon Barker, also expressed praise for the artist and noted,

“We know his dynamic performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment."

The news comes days after Bad Bunny had responded to questions about skipping US shows for his upcoming "Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour". In an interview with I-D magazine published on September 10, Benito revealed that he has no "hate" for not showing up in the US. He explained,

"People from the U.S. could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue of — like, f***ing ICE could be outside."

Bad Bunny will have to make an exception to perform in the US due to his Super Bowl halftime show. He soft-landed the announcement by telling his fans that he will perform for "one day" in the US.
