When did Tame Impala release its last album? Details explored as frontman Kevin Parker seemingly teases new music 

Psychedelic indie group Tame Impala have released four studio albums, with the most recent being The Slow Rush in 2020. Frontman and the artist behind the psychedelic project, Kevin Parker seemingly teased new music on a recent social media post on July 13. They captioned the post with a winking emoji and added,

"Been busy"

They added a carousel of photos, with the first photo featuring Parker and musical artist, Julian Klincewicz. The carousel featured a mix of images, including Parker seemingly in his studio and surrounded by instruments. Most notably, the carousel also included an image of a potential tracker of their new tracks.

Tame Impala seemingly tease new music through social media post

Tame Impala has reportedly "been busy", while fans hope that it is with a new album release. According to Tone Deaf magazine, the post drew positive reactions from fellow artists including A$AP Rocky, who added a prayer and heart emojis. Dua Lipa, who has previously performed with Kevin Parker during her Radical Optimism Tour in Australia on March 28, 2025 also took to the comment section. She wrote,

“Ugh i love you guys."

The post comes approximately a month after Kevin Parker reportedly played an unreleased track in Barcelona in June. According to the Rolling Stone, the band was reportedly in Barcelona for the Primavera Sound Festival. At a club, Kevin reportedly asked the audience,

“Do you guys want to hear a new Tame Impala song?”

Kevin had previously talked about an upcoming album in 2024. While he kept hush on the details, he told Guardian,

"All I can say is that I’m working on it. It’s not finished yet, but I think it’ll be there, soon.”

In another 2024 interview with Sydney Morning Herald, Kevin had teased that he would want to release an album unlike the "pattern" (reportedly of releasing one album every five years). He noted that the new album,

“will always be something more special to me than anything else and the thing I put the most love into”.
