Doja Cat’s highly anticipated fifth album Vie is on the horizon. The multihyphenate entertainer announced that the album would be released on September 26, 2025.

The Grammy Award winner shared the news via a video posted on her Instagram. The vintage-inspired video shows Doja Cat dressed in an Old Hollywood-esque costumes consisting of black lace, white fur and a ballroom gown against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.

In one clip, the rapper and singer asks another version of herself, “You’re here?” Doja replies to herself, “Of course, I am,” as she takes a bite of croissant.

She repeats the phrase:

"Je sais que tu es ma vie,” or “I know you are my life.”

“This is a pop-driven project,” Doja Cat describes upcoming Vie album

Doja Cat, who had previously expressed on X that she would no longer make a pop album, revealed in her July 1, 2025, V Magazine cover story that Vie was still a pop project.

“I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project. I know that I can make pop music, and pop is just that it’s popular. It starts to become a bit of a thing that’s viewed as a sport by people who are just bystanders to it, who enjoy it, but maybe also don’t respect it or what it is, which is just music."

She added:

"There are some people who don’t see it as music. They see it as if this is some kind of football for girls and gays.”

Doja Cat also talked about her inspiration for the Vie album. Sonic backgrounds and synths from the ‘80s influence the album.

“I wanted to play with that nostalgia by using these Lo-Fi sounds and samples and things that reminded you of something from your childhood, but it wasn’t on the nose ‘80s.”

Doja has been teasing the release of Vie since October 2024. The artist recently announced that its lead single, Jealous Type, will be released on August 21, 2025. She performed the song during appearances at Outside Lands and Club Oasis. Her last album, Scarlet, dropped in 2023 and spawned mega hits Paint the Town Red and Agora Hills.
