Two years ago, Roger Daltrey expressed doubt over The Who ever touring North America again. However, in August 2025, Daltrey and Pete Townshend launched The Song Is Over tour, a farewell run across North America that they say will be The Who's last.

The 17-date farewell trek began on August 16, 2025, at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. It is set to wrap up on September 28, 2025, in Las Vegas. For fans, this is a final opportunity to see one of rock's most beloved bands performing live on stage. The tour follows a pair of July shows in Italy.

The Who took to their official Instagram page to pen a note on their farewell tour debut. The post read:

"Tonight The Who launch their farewell North American tour, The Song Is Over, right here at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. For fans, this is more than just a concert, it's a chance to say goodbye to a band that shaped generations. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend promise a powerful, emotional set packed with classics from their legendary career. If you have ever sung along to 'Baba O'Riley' or felt the pulse of 'My Generation', this night is for you. Don't miss your moment, this is your last chance to experience The Who live. Let's make it unforgettable."

For this tour, The Who's lineup includes guitarist Simon Townshend, bassist Jon Button, keyboardist Loren Gold, percussionist Jody Linscott, new backing vocalist John Hogg, and drummer Scott Devours, who replaced Zak Starkey earlier this year after his exit.
