In a recent exclusive interview with People magazine, David Henrie, an American actor known for his role in the popular Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place, shared the new side of his co-star and friend, Selena Gomez, that he experienced while working together on a new project.

Over two decades ago, David and Selena worked together on the original Disney series, Wizards of Waverly Place. Now, the two friends act and executive produce the series 2025 spin-off, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

According to the 36-year-old actor, his relationship with Selena has grown beyond friendship to become business partners. He revealed that talking business with the I Said I Love You First singer was a fun experience.

“Getting to produce a project together has made some slight changes in our friendship in a sense of, we've never really talked business or professionally about anything. It’s always just been really on a friend level. So it's been kind of fun getting to talk about something we both really care about and try to make that thing as good as we can.”

David Henrie praised Selena’s business instinct and credited part of the series' success to the singer’s efforts.

“I've gotten to see a different side of her and how her brain works in a more professional setting, which is wonderful. She really has had such good instincts, and her belief in the project and in everyone means a lot.”

He added:

“It's a big deal, and I think a lot of that is credit to Selena's belief and effort in helping make this what it is.”
