Alternative rock veterans Throwing Muses are officially set to return to Australia in December 205 for their Moonlight Concessions tour. It will be the band's first visit there since 2009. It follows their eleventh studio album, Moonlight Concessions, released in March 2025.

The American trio, Kristin Hersh, David Narcizo, and Bernard Georges, are well-known names in the alternative rock scene. During their AU leg, two notable Australian acts, Charm Of Finches and A.C. Saunders, will join the band as supporting acts.

Throwing Muses last toured Australia in 2009. Since then, Hersh has mainly continued through solo work and with her other project, 50 Foot Wave. The upcoming shows are part of an international schedule that spans the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.

Throwing Muses announced the support acts via an official Instagram post, captioning:

"💡@throwingmusesofficial announce support acts for their upcoming December tour! @charmoffinchesband @a.csaunders Tickets on sale now!"

Every stop of Throwing Muses' Australian tour will feature Charm Of Finches, the Melbourne sister duo Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes. The pair's albums Wonderful Oblivion (2021) and Marlinchen In The Snow (2023) earned significant attention from fans and enthusiasts.

On the other hand, A.C. Saunders will join the bill for the Melbourne and Sydney dates. Saunders is beloved for her songwriting in Australia's independent music circuit.

Throwing Muses' latest album, Moonlight Concessions, features Hersh's collaborators, including her partner Fred Abong on drums and her son Dylan Hersh on bass. Throughout 2025, the band has performed much of the new album alongside older fan favorites like Counting Backwards, Shark, and Colder.

The album was announced via an official Instagram post, which read:

"@throwingmusesofficial release their new album, ‘Moonlight Concessions’, on 14th March 2025 via Fire Records 🌙 Album opener, ‘Summer Of Love’ began as a bet with a guy for a dollar that revolved around the idea that the seasons don’t change us. It’s a haunting baroque overture, bowed and brooding. “He said we aren’t just planted here, stagnant, we’re in flux, responding to love like octopuses moving across the ocean floor. Turns out he was right, and I still owe him a buck.” Produced by @kristinhersh at Steve Rizzo’s Stable Sound Studio in Portsmouth, Rhode Island."

Tickets for Throwing Muses' upcoming shows are currently available through official outlets.
