American Idol 2025 is coming to an end. After weeks of performances and eliminations, the finale is set to air on May 18. This season featured a mix of talented contestants who gave it their all.
Along with waiting to find out which contestant wins, fans are also eager to know which artists are performing at this year’s finale.
As per the announcement made by American Idol, the complete lineup will consist of fourteen performances. Some of the names include Goo Goo Dolls, Salt-N-Pepa, and Jessica Simpson.

Additionally, the current judges of the season—Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie—will also perform on the American Idol finale stage. Luke and Lionel have been judges on the show for a long time now, with Katy Perry as the third judge. For this season, Perry was replaced by Carrie, who is also the winner of American Idol Season 4.
In the interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Katy Perry revealed the reason for her departure from the show, saying:
"I think this probably will be my last show, my last season for Idol. I mean, I love Idol so much. I know it's connecting me with the heart of America. But I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat, you know what I'm saying Jimmy."
In 2024, the executive producer and showrunner of American Idol, Megan Wolflick, revealed the reason behind choosing Underwood as the new judge on the panel, saying:
"Carrie Underwood is the first American Idol alum ever to join the judging panel. Her global superstar status as the most successful Idol winner to date makes her a perfect fit for the show."
She further stated,
"Our future hopefuls will have the chance to receive advice from someone who has walked in their exact footsteps every step of the way. Carrie has always been a strong supporter of Idol, and I’m thrilled for her to be reunited with our Idol Family."
