Mexican musician Julión Álvarez had to cancel his sold-out concert at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on May 24, 2025. The concert was one of the biggest performances of his 2025 tour, with nearly 50,000 tickets already booked. Visa problems, however, kept him from visiting the United States to perform the concert.

Copar Music and CMN made the announcement on social media. They explained that the concert had to be postponed because of the cancellation of his work visa for the United States just a few days prior to the concert. His team and equipment were already in Texas to perform.

The fans were disheartened, but the artist assured them that the concert would be rescheduled. The tickets bought for the May 24 concert will be honored for the rescheduled concert. Refund options will also be offered for the fans who are not able to attend the rescheduled concert.

What caused Julion Alvarez's concert to be postponed?

The main reason for the postponement was that Julión Álvarez’s U.S. work visa was revoked. He said this was not something he could control. The cancellation happened just days before the show, which made it impossible for him to enter the country.

Julión Álvarez announced this news on his official social media accounts. His promoters, CMN and Copar Music, also released statements explaining the situation. They called the visa issue an “unforeseen circumstance” that forced the show to be postponed.

According to Julión Álvarez, everything was ready in Texas. The production crew had arrived, and the stage was already set up at AT&T Stadium. The only thing missing was the artist himself, who could not travel because of the visa problem.

Has Julión Álvarez had visa issues before?

This is not the first time Julión Álvarez has faced problems with U.S. visas. In 2017, his visa was revoked after he was linked to a drug trafficker by U.S. authorities. He denied any wrongdoing, saying he had only done a real estate deal with the person in question.

He spent several years working to clear his name. In 2022, he was officially removed from the U.S. sanctions list. After that, he was able to regain his visa and return to performing in the United States.

Earlier in 2025, Julión Álvarez had already performed in the U.S. without any reported issues. That made the sudden visa cancellation before the May concert even more surprising for his team and his fans.

Will fans get refunds or updates about the new date?

Promoters have said that all tickets for the May 24 concert will still be good for the rescheduled show. This means fans who already bought tickets do not need to take any action unless they want a refund.

Ticket holders will receive updates by email. They will be told about the new concert date as soon as it is decided. If fans are unable to attend on the new date, they will be given instructions on how to ask for a refund.

This has helped reduce confusion for fans. Even though many were upset, most were glad to hear they would not lose their money. Julión Álvarez also promised to come back as soon as the visa issue is solved.

Tickets are still available, and anyone unable to go to the changed concert can get a refund. Although the specific reason for the visa cancellation has not been announced, this case shows how hard it is for international artists to get visas for US tours.
