Fans who have been looking forward to the film Killian & the Comeback Kids, which stars Kassie DePaiva (ex-Eve Donovan, Days of our Lives; ex-Blair Cramer, One Life to Live) and Nathan Purdee (ex-Hank Gannon, OLTL; ex-Nathan Hastings, The Young and the Restless), are in luck. The folk-rock film will be showing in theaters across the nation this September and October, having kicked off this past weekend with a premiere in New York City.
Written, produced, and directed by Taylor Purdee (the son of Nathan Purdee), Killian & the Comeback Kids follows a recent college graduate who isn't thrilled to land back home in rural Pennsylvania. However, his "failed" summer takes on new meaning when he decides to throw together a ragtag band of other locals to perform at a music festival coming to their once-prosperous steel town. Armed with only folk rock, Killian and the band try to unite the community, if only for one night.
DePaiva -- who plays Killian's mother, Mrs. Raison, opposite Nathan as Killan's father, Mr. Raison -- told Soap Central that she's super proud of the film that is a perfect story for our time.
"It has a very fresh feeling, these young kids, the struggles that they're dealing with and trying to find out who they are, so it's very timely. Very, very timely," she shares, adding, "It's just a good little movie."
Killian & the Comeback Kids premiered at New York's Rockwood Music Hall on Sunday, September 12, and will play at Cinema Village on Tuesday, September 14. Further theatrical dates are listed below for the film, which will also be available on VOD this November.
